The Hawk flies

We had rehearsal on the street outside of St Marks Church yesterday and it was pretty darned interesting. Witnessed a man walking his cat, just missed Disco Mass, and had to fight tooth and nail just to get a spot on a bench to rehearse. Can't wait to see how the tour comes together. People seemed supportive of our presence, but honestly hardly noticed us.

Barry and I did NOT miss the Disco Mass. It was pretty darned interesting, too. I grew up the granddaughter of an Episcopal priest, and he may have been rolling over in his grave. But the singing was great, and more to the point of this blog, the St. Mark's Church folks seem pretty nice. Hopefully we can coexist well w/them these next 3 wks.

Catherine is right: the disco mass was a trip: I'll definitely be back for more at St. Mark's. Father Denaro is a dynamic speaker and funny (always good in a priest, IMHO). And he's already put us in touch with someone who may be able to help us around the corner on 11th Street at Greenwich Village Historic Preservation Society.

Maybe we should plan a group OFFStage outing to Disco Mass!
