Loved the whole experience! Great to see bits of plays I remember and bits of plays I'd heard of and never actually saw. The whole thing was wonderfully and inventively staged and there were lots of terrific actors (amazing how many good actors and singers there are in this town that are willing to do this kind of stuff for free). The program with its helpful explanatory paragraphs was well prepared and invaluable for giving context and history. So my friend, a Brit with only anecdotal knowledge of OOB, was able to follow along and enjoy too. She loved the evening as well, said "This kind of thing is why I wanted to live in New York." She found the organizer at LaMama afterwards and really gushed at him about how brilliant it was.
So glad to see it, to see you -- hope many people do and enjoy this event.

2007: East Village Fragments.
This June, OFF Stage heads east for the second half of our Off-Off Broadway tribute. Neighborhood streets will come alive with another 80-plus performers in a retrospective medley of classic plays from Café LaMaMa, Theatre Genesis, Old Reliable Theatre Tavern, Tempo Theatre, Astor Place Theater, Off Bowery Theater and The Public/NYSF. OFF Stage: the East Village Fragments caps off our celebration to a generation of artists at the forefront of a movement.
OFF Stage: A Performance Tribute to 50 Years of Off-Off Broadway
The beginning of an artistic movement is often impossible to pinpoint. New York City’s Off-Off Broadway is no exception, but it’s been roughly 50 years since a spark of revolution turned Greenwich Village into a hot spot of artistic experimentation. Like so many others, Peculiar Works Project has been enormously influenced by the plays and playmakers from this period, so we’re bringing together some of today’s best downtown NYC directors and performers to celebrate the birthplace of American alternative theater.

As a performer, an audience memeber, and volunteer, I was able to follow PWP through the streets of N.Y. From acting in the west village, to the east village, and all the events in between... it has been an incredible experience! Meeting so many talented people along the way who share a passion that is infectiious. The energy I embraced is something that can't be put into words.
